LISA ALLEN

Former CHRO at the American Hospital Association

With more than three decades of leadership experience across major health systems, national associations, and mission-driven organizations, Lisa Allen is a seasoned human resources executive known for transforming culture, strengthening organizational performance, and guiding complex workforce strategies in rapidly evolving environments.


Lisa currently serves as Interim Vice President of Human Resources at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, where they lead system-wide HR strategy, employee relations, leadership development, and workforce engagement for a diverse hospital workforce in Los Angeles County. In this role, they provide steady, trusted leadership through periods of organizational change, ensuring alignment across teams and improving operational effectiveness.


Previously, Lisa was Senior Vice President of HR & Talent Management at Sharp HealthCare, an integrated system of 20,000 employees across six hospitals, a health plan, and two medical groups. There, they created Sharp’s first enterprise talent strategy in two decades, redesigned compensation and benefits frameworks, negotiated major labor agreements, and elevated talent management success metrics across engagement, retention, internal mobility, and diversity. They also partnered closely with the Board, leading the Executive Compensation Committee and supporting multiple board committees, while playing a central role in the recruitment and onboarding of several key executive leaders.


Before joining Sharp,Lisa served for nearly 17 years as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at the American Hospital Association, where they led national HR strategy, culture transformation, and workforce programs supporting hospitals and health systems across the country.


In addition to their operational leadership, Lisa serves on the Board of Directors for CyraCom Language Solutions, contributing expertise in human resources transformation, governance, executive compensation, DEI leadership, and organizational development.


Earlier in their career, [Name] held progressive leadership roles at The Virginian-Pilot, The Daily Press (Tribune Company), and Hewitt Associates, and began their career in public service as a Legislative Assistant for the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources, working on federal labor, employment, and workforce development policy.
