DAVID FLETCHER

Hospital Telehealth Strategy | Virtual Care Operations | Digital Health Transformation

David Fletcher is a nationally recognized telehealth and digital health leader with more than 25 years of experience designing, scaling, and operationalizing virtual care programs across large health systems.

Most recently, David served as Associate Vice President of Telehealth at Geisinger, where he oversaw all aspects of the organization’s telehealth and eICU programs, supporting care delivery across 10 hospital campuses and more than 50 community clinics throughout Pennsylvania. In this role, he led a team of 128 clinicians and technical professionals, managing the clinical, operational, technical, regulatory, and business components of one of the nation’s most advanced health system telehealth programs.

Under David’s leadership, Geisinger’s telehealth program experienced more than 200-fold growth in telemedicine utilization, significantly expanding patient access and digitally enabled care across the region. He also secured $4.4 million in grant funding to support program expansion and the deployment of advanced telehealth technologies.

In 2020, the program was recognized as the #1 National Telehealth Network at the Teladoc National Telehealth Innovation Forum, reflecting its leadership in virtual care delivery and health system transformation.

Prior to Geisinger, David spent 13 years leading telemedicine initiatives at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he helped build one of the country’s largest academic telehealth programs and secured more than $100 million in external funding to expand telemedicine infrastructure, research, and clinical services.

David brings deep expertise in telehealth strategy, virtual care program design, digital health operations, AI/ML healthcare applications, and healthcare process improvement. Today, he advises healthcare organizations and digital health companies on building scalable telehealth models, evaluating emerging technologies, and optimizing digitally enabled care delivery.

He holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Arkansas Tech University and an MBA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. David remains active in national industry leadership, currently serving as Vice President of the Society for Education and the Advancement of Research in Connected Health (SEARCH) and on the Innovation Board of the Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law (CTeL).

Across his career, David has focused on helping healthcare organizations translate emerging technology into practical, scalable care models that improve access, strengthen clinical performance, and advance the future of connected care.
