 For over 19 years Mr. William D. Petasnick, served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Froedtert Health Inc, Milwaukee, WI. Froedtert Health is a regional network of primary and tertiary healthcare services in eastern and southeastern Wisconsin. Froedtert Health combines Froedtert Hospital an academic medical center affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin, with community hospitals and physician groups to provide a full array of health services.

As a national leader, Mr. Petasnick has served as chair of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees, the Council of Teaching Hospitals of the Association of American Medical Colleges, and the Wisconsin Hospital Association. In 2005, he was awarded the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s Distinguished Service Award.

Mr. Petasnick has a strong track record of effective leadership and a keen understanding of the health care field. He has a reputation as a collaborator and consensus builder, and is recognized for his expertise on health policy matters. He continues to remain active in the health field by serving on several boards and as a strategic advisor to several healthcare organizations and companies.

He is the recipient of several prestigious awards including an honorary doctorate of healthcare management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a honorary doctorate degree in medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Recently, the American Hospital Association presented its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award to him in recognition of his significant contributions and service to healthcare institutions and associations.

Prior to becoming the CEO & President of Froedtert Hospital, Mr. Petasnick’s other professional roles were Administrator of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic-Iowa City, Iowa; Director of Operations, University of North Carolina Hospitals & Clinics-Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Associate Director, University of Wisconsin Hospitals & Clinics – Madison, Wisconsin; special assistant to the Director, University of Michigan Hospitals-Ann Arbor, Michigan; and commissioned officer, US Public Health Service-Washington, DC.

Mr. Petasnick is an adjunct associate professor of health management at the Rush University program in healthcare management and at the University of Iowa. He earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters in Healthcare Administration – University of Minnesota. Mr. Petasnick is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

He has two children and five grandchildren.
