Larry Boress, MPA, currently serves as Executive Director of the National Association of Worksite Health
Centers, the nation's only organization for employers interested in planning and implementing onsite and near-site health and wellness centers.
In 1991, Larry joined the Midwest Business Group on Health, a Chicago-based, non-profit, organization of
over 120, self-insured public and private employers who provide health benefits for over 4 million lives.
From 2006-2017, he held the position of President & CEO of the Midwest Business Group on Health. In
this capacity, he interacted daily with business, health plan, health care provider and government leaders,
assisting and working with them in addressing health benefit and health care challenges and their
management responsibilities.
During his time at MBGH, Mr. Boress created and facilitated multiple community collaborations of public
and private health care stakeholders on diabetes, early elective deliveries, transparency in provider
performance, reducing unnecessary C-sections and other issues.
Mr. Boress spent the first 17 years of his career at the Illinois State Medical Society and has served as the
Illinois Regional Leader of the Leapfrog Group efforts to promote hospital patient safety. He also was a
co-founder of the Private Exchange Evaluation Collaborative, an entity created to provide unbiased
information on private health insurance exchanges.
